This project was a submission for a group assignment in my second year of university. I and a colleague acted as project managers over the course of a three-month period. Throughout this time we were on a weekly agile development cycle, in which tasks would be set every Wednesday after a group meeting discussing what had to be done in that week.
The brief we received stated that our game had to be a physics-based simultaneous multiplayer game. The game we created was inspired by the infamous Cooper's Hill Cheese-Rolling and Wake event in Gloucestershire.
Two players would take control of their own wheel of cheese and roll down a series of hills to gain momentum. Players can then press their respective button to make the wheel jump in the air and retain momentum. From there the player who stops first is the loser.
Throughout the level the terrain would change and would cause the players to lose momentum when trying to overcome a hill. To aid players, a series of speed boosts were placed into locations around the level that would be difficult to reach but would reward the player if they obtained it.
