At the end of my third year of study I had the amazing opportunity to take part in the Tranzfuser program. This program consists of postgraduates and young developers across the UK, compete against each other to develop and pitch a game that has new ideas/ unique elements to it. Participants are given an initial £5,000 to get them started and develop their game over the course of three months. After this development period, teams must present their game at EGX and pitch their game to a board of investors. Teams can then win up to £25,000 to further develop their game and start an indie studio.

Our team, 'Studio Six' had the game 'Aurora', a colouring-based game that involved colouring in worlds and collecting items to create their own world. This game started off as a group project in my final year of study that  we took into further development for Tranzfuser.

Unfortunately, our team did not receive the further funding and subsequently development was ceased. However I and all other members of the team walked away, knowing that we had learnt so much about working in a small team and adhering to a hard deadline.

A personal highlight of this project for me was watching people play our game at EGX and the different reactions we received. Some players would sit down for a solid 20 minutes and colour their world in, with extreme detail. Without being prompted to. This was the first time I had a large and varied amount of people play a game I had worked on and was an eye-opening experience.
